Recipe: Baked Turkey Wings

I have some really fond memories of a turkey wing phase my dad went through.  He  would go on these kicks where he would make something like once a week until he felt he’d perfected it.  One of those things was turkey wings.  I don’t have his recipe.  In fact, I think he makes it more by feel than anything.  But after finding some on sale at the supermarket, I did some research on the interwebs and combined several recipes to come up with this little ditty.

2.5 pounds turkey wings cut into sections if bought whole

1 onion cut into 1/2 inch slices

1 large lemon cut into 4 wedges

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

2 teaspoons Lawry’s season salt

1 teaspoons lemon-pepper seasoning

1 teaspoons minced garlic

1 1/2 tablespoons paprika

2 teaspoons parsley flakes

2 teaspoons piri piri seasoning

2 1/2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

Directions:

1. Place the wings in a bowl, drizzle them with olive oil and rub them all over with the seasonings.

2. Remove the wings from the bowl and Place them into a oiled bake dish on top of the onion slices.

3. Pour 2 1/2 cups of broth into the bowl the wings were in to capture the leftover seasonings then pour the broth into the bake dish an dplace the lemon wedges in the open spaces between the wings.
