The Road to a #MeMade Wardrobe: McCalls 7387

As some of you know, I decided to go back to school this past fall for costume design.  I’ve already been trying to have an entirely #MeMade wardrobe.  But I wanted to make several garments to wear to school.  So I started with a couple of contemporary pieces.

M7387-1.jpg

Pattern: Misses' Button-Down Top, Tunic, Dresses and Belt

Fabric: Ankara Print BSP062 from AKN Fabrics

Style: Shirt Dress

Vintage/Contemporary:  Contemporary

Pattern Edits:

1. I made zero edits.  But if I made this again I would cut it so that it was more fitted.

Lessons Learned:

1. I think I’ll use this pattern as a block and alter it to be (a) fitted, (b) blousson to be worn with a belt and (c) knee length.

This pattern was pretty simple. I would recommend it to a newbie IF AND ONLY IF you are comfortable with buttons and buttonholes.
