Recipe: Colonizer Tears aka White Sangria

I was invited to a Juneteenth party and was unsure of what to bring or even what a Juneteenth party was supposed to be.  Anyway, I didn’t want to bring anything too heavy.  And for some wild reason, my friends rely on me for booze. Go figure.

So I decided to whip up a nice “light” sangria.  There are a bunch of recipes out there that I sampled from.  The end result was a real crowd pleaser.  I made 6 liters of this shit and it was gone within an hour of my arrival.

Ingredients:

Glass

3 ounces white wine, Sauvignon Blanc or whatever you can get your hands on

1 ounce vodka

½ ounce triple sec

1 ounce lemonade

1 ounce flavored sparkling water (stay away from coconut flavored bubbly)

Sprig of mint

Orange slice for garnish

Pitcher

1 bottle white wine, Sauvignon Blanc or whatever you can get your hands on

1/3 cup apple vodka

1/4 cup triple sec

1/3 lemonade

1/3 cup flavored sparkling water (stay away from coconut flavored bubbly)

1 sliced lime

1 sliced lemon

1 diced mango

Handful of spanked mint

Feel free to alter this recipe as you see fit.  I often change up the fresh fruit that I add to it.
