The Road to a #MeMade Wardrobe: Vogue 9363
I once again was able to get a crazy cute cotton print fabric from Rye Canyon Supply Co. a while ago that just screamed all types of 90’s realness. I saw it and instantly thought it would have been perfect on any cast member of Saved by the Bell.
I didn’t want to use it for a pattern that had a 90’s silhouette. Instead I thought it might be nice on something a little more understated and pretty. I picked this simple Vogue pattern and was very happy with my decision
Pattern: VOGUE SEWING PATTERN 9363 MISSES 4-14 VERY EASY DOLMAN DRESS TUNIC TAPERED PANTS
Fabric: Retro Print Cotton from Rye Canyon Supply Co.
Style: Dolman Tunic
Vintage/Contemporary: Contemporary
Pattern Edits:
1. I made the smallest change with the sleeve. The pattern called for me to roll it under twice for a ¼ inch hem. But since I was doing bias tape on the collar, I decided to do bias tape to finish the arm hem as well. I think it looks darling.
Lessons Learned:
1. Because I’d gained weight in between initially cutting the pattern and sewing it together, I was a little concerned about the final product fitting. But whenever I cut a pattern, I initially give myself some breathing room for alterations. So when I was done with the garment and put it on and it fit PERFECTLY, I was really excited. I’ll continue to always give myself that space to ‘grow’ as it were.
This pattern took me all of 2 hours of cutting and construction time. Anyone could use it.
