The Road to a #MeMade Wardrobe:  Vogue 9315

One of my nearest and dearest sister-friends went to Paris for the first time several years ago and while there she was so kind to think of me.  She brought me back this really beautiful sheer silk.  At the time I had never worked with sheer fabric before and couldn’t think of anything to make with it.  Translation: I was scared of sewing with it and messing it up.

Recently I was going through my stash and came across this lovely fabric and made it my mission to make something out of it.  I’m a lot more practiced in different kinds of textiles now than I was when she first gifted it to me. I purchased a simple, off-white cotton to use as a backing for it and whipped up this little ditty.

Pattern Edits:

1. The pattern didn’t call for a lining.  But since it was so sheer I knew a lining was necessary.

2. Because I added a lining, how I attached the ties and the collar had to be modified as well.

Lessons Learned:

1. I found it very difficult to get the lining and self fabric to lay flat against each other since they have different hands and weights.  But I had to just be patient and not try to rush it.  Since this fabric was so special to me I made sure not to eff it up.

This is definitely an easy pattern and shouldn’t take a novie more than a day to complete.
