The Road to a #MeMade Wardrobe: McCalls 7951
I’ve been trying to allow myself to be comfortable with wearing different types of garments. I generally would never wear this type of sundress because it gives the world an all access pass to my back fat. I was also concerned about not being able to wear a bra with it. But I decided to just give it a go…and I didn’t turn out half bad.
Pattern: Misses' Dresses
Fabric: Ankara Print Fabric from AKN Fabrics
Style: Sundress
Vintage/Contemporary: Contemporary
Pattern Edits:
1. As much as I wanted to, I didn’t change anything. I was very tempted to draft a bodice that connected to the skirt in the back. But I fought the urge and just went with the pattern as is and it turned out really cute.
Lessons Learned:
1. Sometimes a bra isn’t necessary.
This is a pretty simple pattern. The only thing that might trip up a newbie is getting the bodice right because of the lining and straps. But I encourage you newbies to give it a go.
