The Road to a #MeMade Wardrobe: McCall’s 6891
I saw this pattern for a super simple shirt dress. But when I first looked at it, I immediately imagined it in a rich, beautiful fabric worn to a sexy event. So I went on the hunt for some super lush fabric. However, during a trip to Michael Levine, I found this vibrant poly sateen blend fabric in their high value section. I ‘m pretty sure I didn’t pay more than $10 for it. Talk about a steal!
Pattern: Misses' Shirtdresses and Sash
Fabric: Michael Levine High Value Fabric
Style: Shirt Dress
Vintage/Contemporary: Contemporary
Pattern Edits:
1. The hem was super weird and funky, it wasn’t so much because of the pattern, but more so the fabric. So I edited the pattern to match the fabric better. I needed to add sa few centimeters to the hem at the center front to make it work.
Lessons Learned:
1. Sometimes cheap fabrics look amazing if they’re a little bit shimmery and shiny.
