My first time at Metropolitan Fashion Week was overall very pleasant.  I’d be glad to cover it again. The event was held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown LA, which was more than a step up from the last fashion show I was at.  The setting was really beautiful and I kinda want to go back to the hotel to have a photo shoot (outfit changes and all).

I appreciated that the show started almost on time, which hardly EVER happens at fashion events in LA. I also appreciated the short form of the show.  Only four lines walked the runway and the meat and potatoes of the show was roughly an hour long.

Regardless of the short form of the show and my relatively comfortable princess unicorn shoes, I prefer to go at it like this:

The show was hosted by Edwardo Khawam and Ava Capra.  Edwardo is the founder and president of Metropolitan Fashion Week as well as a TV personality for Telemundo. Ava was a contestant on Cycle 22 of America’s Next Top Model.  She’s also a singer and actress.

I was taking pictures from the balcony so I couldn’t see the guests that well.  The only celebs that I was able to easily spot were Phoebe Price and Farrah Abraham who came together. Something about that is so perfect.  But anyway, on to the fashion!

I loved 75% of what walked the runway, which is saying a lot for me.  I particularly liked the colored suits. That pastel green and French blue...YAS!

There were only a few looks that walked and I was left wanting more. I love when little people wear big people's clothes. And those kids were flipping adorable.

Sportswear

I'm not sure who was the designer here, I don't believe the hosts announced the name. There wasn't much to this collection except t-shirts and jeans. But I could tell even from the balcony that they were good t-shirts and jeans. There's something kinda sexy about a guy in a pair of well fitting jeans and a quality tee.

LASC (Los Angeles Swim Club) Swimwear

This line left NOTHING to the imagination.  In fact, when one guy walked out my husband exclaimed, "Get that man a pair of pants!" But anyway, I love that there were several types of bottoms.  I wish that there was more variety in terms of body types that could pull off these looks. But I loved the color palatte  and tropical inspiration.

Overall it was a good show in a great setting. I look forward to going to these events in the future.
