Costume Remix #27: GOOD BURGER (1997) HALLOWEEN EDITION

As a baby costume designer, I’m so eager to learn and enhance my craft and I spend a lot of time studying other artists’ work.  I am always inspired by the costume pieces from some of my favorite films.  So, I decided to start trying to recreate, and in some cases, revamp or put my own spin on some famous and not so famous pieces from these films.

Some of my earliest remixes were Halloween costumes.  I have dragged my hubby, kicking and screaming into some of the best costumes I’ve ever created.  We’ve done it for so long now that we’re known for our couple costumes.

Sho’nuff and Laura from The Last Dragon

Scarecrow, Dorothy, Lion & Tin Man from The Wiz

80’s Workout Enthusiasts

Milli Vanilli

Will & Carlton from The Fresh Prince

Memes: Baby Cardi B and Black Guy on the Phone

Red and Abraham from Us

Blaine & Antoine from Men on Film from In Living Color

The Keymaster and the Gatekeeper from Ghostbusters, Special appearance from our puppy Gloria as a Ghostbuster.

And for this year’s costume, we decided to go with a duo from our childhood dreams, Keenan and Kel as Dexter and Ed from Good Burger.  I always do a combo of crafting and thrifting for our costumes. Because my schedule is so nutzo in the buttzo this year, I couldn’t craft as much as I wanted to.  Gloria was going to be a burger until I realized I’d have to forgo sleep and I wasn’t going to do that.  So instead I found her a striped shirt so she could be part of the Good Burger crew.  I purchased my striped shirt from Forever and copped white jeans from the thrift store.  Our wigs and soda jerk hads came from amazon and I made aaron’s shirt.  I also jerry-rigged our nametags and the Good Burger logo on our hats.

All the props go to costume designers Natasha Landau, who designed this film, and Bruce Anthony Marshall, who designed for All That when Good Burger was just a skit.

I bow down to you!
